International Referral Incentive

Hello, Franchisees.

Thank you for being part of the Mathnasium family.

As you may know, over the past 10+ years, our organization has maintained a clear focus on becoming the dominant company for children’s math supplementary education in North America. We have grown to over 840 Centers. We have also received many awards over the years, and we just reached #28 on Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500 list for 2018, proving that you and your fellow partners have done an amazing job.

During the last 18+ months, I have been diligently building our international department, including strategy, systems, and resources.

With our solid footprint in North America and an international team in place, we are pleased to announce that we are now able to recommence discussions with international partners.

You, our Franchisees, come from a variety of backgrounds and birthplaces, and many have connections across the globe. Perhaps you know of family, friends, or colleagues who have an interest in developing Mathnasium in a market outside of North America.

If you do, we would like to reward you with a 5,000 USD referral appreciation fee for any new partner who joins Mathnasium in 2018.

There are a few key requirements we ask you to consider before you make a referral:

  1. Executing operations in overseas Centers will be nearly the same as here in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
  2. Outside of North America and United Kingdom, we are looking only for multi-center operators. Our international partners will want to grow a network of multiple Centers across their country/region and will need the resources to do so.
  3. Our overseas growth will take the form of three configurations: Area Developer, Master Franchise or Regional Master Franchise:
    • Area Developer–Own and operate all Mathnasium Learning Centers in a market, typically an entire country with a small population, physical size, and/or economy. The markets in which we seek Area Developers are Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, New Zealand, Israel, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Portugal, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Sub-franchising is not allowed.
    • Master Franchise–Own and operate one or more Mathnasium Learning Centers in a market, typically an entire country with a medium-sized population, physical size, and/or economy. The markets in which we seek Master Franchisees are Indonesia, Taiwan, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, and Argentina. Sub-franchising is allowed.
    • Regional Master Franchise–Own and operate one or more Mathnasium Learning Centers in a market. This will not be an entire country; rather, it will be a region of a country with a large population, physical size, and/or economy. The markets in which we seek Regional Master Franchisees are China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain, Brazil, and Mexico. Sub-franchising is allowed.

A multi-unit model will likely carry a substantially larger investment than a single-unit model; thus, we require our partners to have a minimum net worth of 500,000 USD and the ability to acquire a line of credit in excess of 1,000,000 USD.

We look forward to continued success together, both domestically and internationally. If you would like to refer a potential partner, please submit the International Referral Form [1].

Here’s to a great 2018!

Regards,

Tim Kleczka
