Since there have been a number of inquiries about how to best utilize the School Year Bulk Update feature, we thought a brief review of how to use this feature would be helpful.

Basics about this Feature

You can find this feature by going to the “Students” menu and selecting “School Year Bulk Update.”

The main functionality of this tool is to ensure that all students’ grade levels and school years advance each year. This easy, one-step functionality should only be used if all your students have their corresponding grade levels and school years input in their student records.

If All Students Have Correct Grade Level AND School Year

If all your students in Radius have their grade level and school year filled out, then you simply select the “Advance Students to Correct School Year” button to advance both the grade level and school year for all your students. This is a one-time change that cannot be undone.

NOTE: The number of students who need their grade level and school year updated is displayed above the “Advance Students to Correct School Year” button. In this example, 193 students need their school year advanced.

If Student(s) Have Missing or Incorrect School Year

If you have students who have missing or incorrect school years, you can update those students’ school years BEFORE you use the School Year Bulk Update tool by following the steps below:

Step 1: Search for student(s) who have a missing or incorrect school year. We have provided searching tips below:

  • To find one student: Type in one student’s name under the “Student Name” search box.
  • To find all students: Leave the “Student Name” search box blank and click “Search”.

Step 2: Locate your search results at the bottom of the page.

Step 3: You can select one or more students who need their school year to be updated by checking off the box next to their name.

NOTE: You can choose “Select All” if you would like to update all students in the search results.

Step 4: Select the correct school year in the drop-down menu.

NOTE: Make sure the school year corresponds to the grade level that is already entered. For example, let’s say that you enrolled a student two years ago and entered a grade level of 2 for them but without a school year. In this case, you would make sure to enter a school year from 2 years ago.

Step 5: Click “Update Selected” in order to update the school year for the selected students.

Step 6: Scroll up to the top of the page to advance the grade level and school year of these students by clicking on “Advance Students to Correct School Year” button.

NOTE: Please remember that the advancement of grade level and school year cannot be undone once this button has been selected. This is a one-time only advance.
